A Design Challenge

Professor Matthew Kirkwood and I were tasked with the creation of this fun hang out space in Klai Hall (NDSU Architecture and Landscape Architecture building). We were given short notice, a thin budget and open reign on design.

Immediately we went to work drafting up ideas and variations. The slideshow below will give you a nice outline of the process and final product.

Our goal was to create an active, bright space for students in a hallway that had previously served no purpose.

We are were reluctant to have Anova Furnishings come to the rescue for the table and chairs. We felt it was appropriate that the design reflect some of these same characteristics.

Special thanks to Joe Reed for his awesome lighting details!
